AN ACT CONCERNING LONG -TERM ACUTE CARE HOSPITALS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to (1) require the Department 1 of Public Health to study the regulatory framework of long-term acute 2 care hospitals, including, but not limited to, (A) any regulatory burdens 3 such as duplicative employee fingerprinting requirements, (B) the 4 appropriateness of current oversight mechanisms, and (C) any 5 regulatory inconsistencies and their impact on the ability of such 6 hospitals to delivery timely and effective care, and (2) require equitable 7 reimbursement rates for long-term acute care hospitals under the 8 Medicaid program. 9 Statement of Purpose: To improve the financial viability, operational efficiency and patient care of long-term acute care hospitals.
