AN ACT REPEALING CERTAIN ELECTRIC SUBSIDIES, PROGRAMS AND TAX EXEMPTIONS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to (1) repeal any subsidy 1 program that has the effect of increasing electric demand, (2) prohibit 2 the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority from creating any new 3 program, (3) repeal any authority granted to the Public Utilities 4 Regulatory Authority to regulate the installation of electric vehicle 5 chargers, (4) repeal any authority for any political subdivision of the 6 state to establish any program providing zero-interest loans for the 7 installation of heat pumps, and (5) repeal any tax exemption provided 8 to data centers pursuant to section 32-286 of the general statutes. 9 Statement of Purpose: To (1) repeal any subsidy program that has the effect of increasing electric demand, (2) prohibit the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority from creating any new program, (3) repeal any authority granted to the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority to regulate the installation of electric vehicle chargers, (4) repeal any authority for any political subdivision of the state to establish any program providing zero-interest Proposed Bill No. 544 LCO No. 1097 2 of 2 loans for the installation of heat pumps, and (5) repeal any tax exemption provided to data centers enacted in public act 21-1.
