AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF INFORMATION
REGARDING TYPE 1 DIABETES TO THE PARENTS AND GUARDIANS
OF STUDENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
Department of Education, in coordination with the Department of 2
Public Health, on and after January 1, 2026, to update the department's 3
"Learning and Diabetes: A Resource Guide for Schools and Families" 4
materials with information and medical developments to ensure type 1 5
diabetes information is accessible to the parents or guardians of a 6
student when such student is first enrolled in elementary school or 7
enrolled in a school setting. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To provide important and updated medical information on type 1
diabetes to parents and guardians of students through the Department
of Education's "Learning and Diabetes: A Resource Guide for Schools
and Families".
