AN ACT REQUIRING LEGISLATIVE REVIEW OF CERTAIN 
INTERPRETATIONS OF ELECTION LAW BY THE SECRETARY OF 
THE STATE. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to provide that any 1 
proposed declaratory ruling, instruction, opinion or written order of the 2 
Secretary of the State to be issued pursuant to section 9-3 of the general 3 
statutes shall be submitted to the standing legislative regulation review 4 
committee for approval. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require legislative review of certain interpretations of election law by 
the Secretary of the State.
