AN ACT REQUIRING THE COMMISSIONER OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO MEET QUARTERLY WITH PROVIDERS, INCLUDING DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT PROVIDERS, TO DISCUSS MEDICAID REIMBURSEMENT RATES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require the 1 Commissioner of Social Services to convene quarterly meetings with all 2 providers, including durable medical equipment providers, to discuss 3 Medicaid reimbursement rates, including, but not limited to, (1) 4 identifying challenges and evaluating the adequacy of current 5 reimbursement rates, and (2) collaboratively developing solutions to 6 ensure that Medicaid beneficiaries have equitable access to necessary 7 medical equipment. 8 Statement of Purpose: To establish quarterly meetings between the Commissioner of Social Services and providers, including durable medical equipment providers, to address Medicaid reimbursement rates and develop Proposed Bill No. 675 LCO No. 2032 2 of 2 solutions to improve access to critical medical equipment and other health services for Medicaid beneficiaries.
