AN ACT REQUIRING PCB TESTING IN CERTAIN SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to require local and 1 regional boards of education to test any school building or facility 2 constructed between 1948 and 1979 for the presence of polychlorinated 3 biphenyls, and to establish a PCB Testing and Remediation Fund to 4 provide financial assistance to boards of education through grants or 5 low-interest loans for testing and remediation efforts. 6 Statement of Purpose: To require PCB testing in schools to promote cancer-free learning.
