AN ACT CONCERNING WORKERS' COMPENSATION BENEFITS FOR
FIREFIGHTERS AND OTHER WORKERS IMPACTED BY SIMILAR
CONDITIONS THAT ARE DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 31-294j of the general statutes be amended to require that 1
a firefighter, or other worker impacted by similar conditions, diagnosed 2
with cancer be presumed to arise out of and in the course of employment 3
as a result of exposures particular to the duties performed as a 4
firefighter. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To create a presumption that a firefighter's diagnosis of cancer arose out
of and in the course of employment.
