AN ACT CONCERNING AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR CERTAIN
DISABLED OR ELDERLY VETERANS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 8-30g of the general statutes be amended to (1) add 1
"disabled veteran units" as a new category of housing, which shall be 2
defined as deed-restricted units that are rented to veterans (A) who (i) 3
have a disability rating from the United States Department of Veterans 4
Affairs of at least thirty per cent, or (ii) are at least sixty-five years old, 5
and (B) whose income is equal to or less than eighty per cent of the 6
median income, and (2) award municipalities one and one-half housing 7
unit-equivalent points for each such newly occupied unit. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To incorporate units specifically set aside for certain disabled or elderly
veterans into the affordable housing policy of section 8-30g of the
general statutes.
