LCO No. 6270 1 of 2 General Assembly Committee Bill No. 1178 January Session, 2025 LCO No. 6270 Referred to Committee on COMMERCE Introduced by: (CE) AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF AN INTERNET WEB SITE MAINTAINED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Economic and 1 Community Development shall conduct a study of the central Internet 2 web site maintained by the Department of Economic and Community 3 Development that consolidates and provides information on state 4 resources available to small businesses. Such study shall include, but 5 need not be limited to, (1) the effectiveness, usability, user experience 6 and web site traffic of such Internet web site, and (2) any 7 recommendations to improve the effectiveness and comprehensiveness 8 of such Internet web site. Not later than February 1, 2026, the 9 Department of Economic and Community Development shall submit a 10 report on the results of such study to the joint standing committee of the 11 General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to commerce, 12 in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes.13 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Committee Bill No. 1178 LCO No. 6270 2 of 2 Section 1 from passage New section Statement of Purpose: To require the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development to study the central Internet web site maintained by the Department of Economic and Community Development that consolidates and provides information on state resources available to small businesses.
