Explanation
The bill results in a one-time cost of up to $250,000 to the Department
of Economic and Community Development (DECD) to conduct a study
of the state's electronic business portal and submit the report to the
committee of cognizance by February 1, 2026.
DECD will require consulting services at a cost of up to $250,000 in
order to complete the research required by the bill by February 1st. The
cost may be partially mitigated to the extent that the staff in DECD or
other relevant state agencies are able to assist with the study. The state
currently maintains a one-stop business website at business.ct.gov.
The Out Years
The fiscal impact is one-time only in FY 26 and therefore does not
continue into the outyears.
