LCO 3714 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 1185 January Session, 2025 Referred to Committee on PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT Introduced by: (PD) AN ACT INCREASING THE PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF CERTAIN MUNICIPAL REGULATIONS AND ORDINANCES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Subparagraph (A) of subdivision (10) of subsection (c) of 1 section 7-148 of the general statutes is repealed and the following is 2 substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2025): 3 (10) (A) Make all lawful regulations and ordinances in furtherance of 4 any general powers as enumerated in this section, and prescribe 5 penalties for the violation of the same not to exceed [two hundred fifty 6 dollars] five hundred dollars, unless otherwise specifically provided by 7 the general statutes. Such regulations and ordinances may be enforced 8 by citations issued by designated municipal officers or employees, 9 provided the regulations and ordinances have been designated 10 specifically by the municipality for enforcement by citation in the same 11 manner in which they were adopted and the designated municipal 12 officers or employees issue a written warning providing notice of the 13 specific violation before issuing the citation, except that no such written 14 warning shall be required for violations of a municipal ordinance 15 regulating the operation or use of a dirt bike, all-terrain vehicle or mini-16 motorcycle; 17 Substitute Bill No. 1185 LCO 3714 2 of 2 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 October 1, 2025 7-148(c)(10)(A) JUD Joint Favorable Subst.
