AN ACT CREATING A CLIMATE CHANGE SUPERFUND.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the recovery of 1
damages from companies that contributed significantly to the buildup 2
of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and utilize such recovered 3
damages to cover costs of mitigation, resilience and adaptation efforts 4
provided forty per cent of such funding is utilized in environmental 5
justice communities. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To provide a means to pay for necessary climate change mitigation
efforts, particularly in environmental justice communities.
