AN ACT CONCERNING THE MANNER IN WHICH PERSONS 
ENGAGED IN MAKING HOME IMPROVEMENTS MAKE CERTAIN 
DISCLOSURES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. Subsection (a) of section 20-427 of the general statutes is 1 
repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 2 
1, 2025): 3 
(a) (1) Each person engaged in making home improvements shall [(1)] 4 
(A) exhibit [his] such person's certificate of registration upon request by 5 
any interested party, [(2)] and (B) except as provided in subdivision (2) 6 
of this subsection, (i) state in any advertisement the fact that [he] such 7 
person is registered, and [(3)] (ii) include [his] such person's registration 8 
number in any advertisement. 9 
(2) Any person engaged in making home improvements may satisfy 10 
the requirements established in subparagraph (B) of subdivision (1) of 11 
this subsection by including in any advertisement an Internet web site 12 
address where any member of the public may view (A) a statement 13 
disclosing whether such person is registered, and (B) such person's 14

registration number. 15 
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections: 
 
Section 1 October 1, 2025 20-427(a) 
 
Statement of Purpose:   
To provide that persons engaged in making home improvements may 
satisfy certain disclosure requirements by disclosing an Internet web 
site address.
