CGWF - Potential Revenue Gain Up to 100,000 Up to 100,000 Note: CGWF=Correctional General Welfare Fund (Non-appropriated) Municipal Impact: None Explanation The bill, which allows correctional facility wardens to impose $15 to $50 fines on an incarcerated person as part of the discipline for certain actions committed while incarcerated, results in a potential revenue gain to the Correctional General Welfare Fund 1 within the Department of Correction beginning in FY 26, to the extent that incidents occur and fines are imposed. It is estimated that about 2,000 qualifying actions occur each year. The Out Years The annualized ongoing fiscal impact identified above would continue into the future subject to the number of qualifying incidents. 1 Funds in the Correctional General Welfare Fund are used for the benefit of inmates by purchasing goods and services that exceed those required for the basic care and custody of inmates.
