AN ACT ASSESSING A CERTAIN FEE FOR DEPOSIT INTO THE
FIREFIGHTERS CANCER RELIEF ACCOUNT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2025) (a) Each telephone or 1
telecommunications company providing local telephone service, each 2
provider of commercial mobile radio service, as defined in 47 CFR 3
Section 20.3, as amended from time to time, and each provider of voice 4
over Internet protocol service, as defined in section 28-30b of the general 5
statutes, shall assess against each subscriber a fee in an amount equal to 6
five cents per month per access line. Such fee shall be remitted to the 7
office of the State Treasurer for deposit into the firefighters cancer relief 8
account established pursuant to section 7-313h of the general statutes, 9
not later than the fifteenth day of each month. 10
(b) The fee imposed under this section shall not apply to any prepaid 11
wireless telecommunications service, as defined in section 28-30b of the 12

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
