AN ACT ESTABLISHING A PROGRAM AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TINY HOMES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2025) (a) As used in this section and section 1
2 of this act, "tiny home" includes a dwelling unit that is four hundred 2
square feet or less in floor area, excluding lofts. 3
(b) The Commissioner of Housing shall establish and administer a 4
program, that includes collaboration with private and nonprofit entities, 5
to (1) identify privately and municipally owned land suitable for the 6
construction of tiny homes, and (2) construct at least five hundred tiny 7
homes on such land to provide temporary housing for homeless 8
persons. 9
Sec. 2. (Effective July 1, 2025) The sum of ten million dollars is 10
appropriated to the Department of Housing from the General Fund, for 11
the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, for the construction of five hundred 12
tiny homes in accordance with section 1 of this act. 13

sections:

hundred tiny homes in the state to provide temporary housing.
