LCO No. 5210 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 1424 January Session, 2025 LCO No. 5210 Referred to Committee on HIGHER EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT ADVANCEMENT Introduced by: (HED) AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR ASTRONAUTICAL SCIENCES TO CONFER DEGREES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) The International Institute for 1 Astronautical Sciences, located in the town of Groton, shall have the 2 authority to confer such degrees and grant such diplomas or certificates 3 as are customary in institutions of higher education, in accordance with 4 its bylaws and subject to such requirements as may be prescribed by the 5 Office of Higher Education, in accordance with the provisions of section 6 10a-34 of the general statutes. 7 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Statement of Purpose: To authorize the International Institute for Astronautical Sciences to confer degrees.
