General Assembly Substitute Bill No. 1494

AN ACT CONCERNING REMEDIATION AND TESTING FOR PFAS IN
CERTAIN WATER SUPPLIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) The Connecticut Interagency 1
PFAS Task Force shall: (1) Not later than July 15, 2025, identify sources 2
of funding for the remediation of municipally owned wells that are 3
determined by the Department of Public Health or the Department of 4
Energy and Environmental Protection to exceed drinking water 5
standards for PFAS, as established by the United States Environmental 6
Protection Agency as of the effective date of this section; and (2) 7
accelerate the phased approach for the testing of public drinking water 8
supplies, as described in such task force's PFAS Action Plan, dated 9
November 1, 2019, whether such supplies are owned by municipalities, 10
private entities or water companies. 11
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
