Explanation
The resolution results in a cost of approximately $36,000 in FY 25 for
the partial year, and $86,000 annually thereafter to the State Comptroller
– Fringe Benefits associated with the changes to death benefits for
surviving spouses and/ or dependents of state employees killed in the
line of duty.
The Out Years
The annualized ongoing fiscal impact identified above would
continue into the future subject to cost of living adjustments until such
statutory requirements are met to cease payments. There are additional
potential costs in the out years dependent on the number of employees
killed in the line of duty, their earned benefits, and if they have a
