To repeal the independent procurement authority of the District of Columbia Public Schools.  17 
 18 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF TH E DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 19 
act may be cited as the “District of Columbia Public Schools Procurement Authority Amendment 20 
Act of 2023”. 21 
 Sec. 2.  (a)  Section 201(b)(5) of the Procurement Practices Reform Act of 2010, effective 22 
April 8, 2011 (D.C. Law 18-371; D.C. Official Code § 2-352.01(b)(5) is repealed. 23 
 Sec. 3. Section 105(c)(8)(B) of the Public Education Reform Amendment Act of 2007, 24 
effective June 12, 2007 (D.C. Law 17-9; D.C. Official Code § 38-174(c)(8)(B)) is repealed. 25 
 Sec. 4. Fiscal impact statement. 26 
The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal 27 
impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975, 28 
approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a).    29 
 Sec. 5.  Effective date. 30 
 This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the 31 
mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), a 30-day period of Congressional review as 32

provided in section 602(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 33 
24, 1973, (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-206.02(c)(1)), and publication in the District of 34 
Columbia Register. 35
