To symbolically designate 2465 Alabama Avenue, S.E., between Gainesville Street, S.E. and 18
Hartford Street, S.E., as Reverend Dr. Judy Talbert Designation Act 2024. 19
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 20
21
act may be cited as the “Reverend Dr. Judy Talbert Street Designation Act of 2024” 22
23
Sec. 2. Pursuant to sections 401, 403, and 421 of the Street and Alley Closing and 24
25
Acquisition Procedures Act of 1982, effective March 10, 1983 (D.C. Law 4-201; D.C. Official 26
27
Code §§ 9-204.01, 9-204.03, and 9-204.21), the Council designates the public alley system 28
29
within Square 5730, bounded by Gainesville Street, S.E. and Hartford Street, S.E., as depicted by 30
31
the plat in the committee report, as “Reverend Dr. Judy Talbert Street Designation Act of 2024”. 32

Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement. 34

The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal 36
37
impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975, 38
39
approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a). 40

Sec. 4. Effective date42 2
This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the 43
44
Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), a 30-day period of congressional review as 45
46
provided in section 602(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 47
48
24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-206.02(c)(1)), and publication in the District of 49
50
Columbia Register. 51
