To establish the Seniors with Disabilities Relocation Subsidy Program that will provide 19
assistance for senior renters with disabilities in the District of Columbia to access 20
and remain in affordable housing units in the District of Columbia. 21

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 23
24
act may be cited as the “Seniors with Disabilities Relocation Subsidy Act of 2024”. 25
26
Sec. 2. Establishment of the relocation subsidy program for seniors with 27
28
disabilities. 29

(a) There is established the Seniors with Disabilities Relocation Subsidy program, 31
32
Which shall be facilitated by the District of Columbia Housing Authority in accordance 33
34
with this section; 35

(1) Annual review of appropriated funds to include a quarterly report to the 37
38
District of Columbia Council, accounting of activities and revenue sources, public 39
40
hearings and quarterly assessment of relocation needs for senior renters with disabilities. 41

Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement. 43

The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the 45

fiscal impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act 47
48
of 1975, approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D. C. Official Code § 1-301.47a). 49

Sec. 4. Effective date. 51

This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto 53
54
by the Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), a 30-day period of 55
56
congressional review as provided in section 602(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home 57
58
Rule Act, approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1- 59
60
206.02(c)(1)), and publication in the district of Columbia Register. 61
