To recognize and congratulate Nyckoles Harbor on winning the 2022 Gatorade State 26
Football Player of the Year award for Washington, D.C. 27
WHEREAS, Nyckoles Harbor is a multi-sport star athlete at Archbishop Carroll High 28
School in Washington, D.C.; 29
WHEREAS, Nyckoles Harbor is the number one athlete in the country and has set multiple 30
high school track records; 31
WHEREAS, Nyckoles Harbor was selected as an Under Armour All-American for his 32
accomplishments on the football field; 33
WHEREAS, Nyckoles Harbor has a 4.4 GPA, is a member of the National Honors Society, 34
and is a 12th Grade student ambassador. Math is his favorite subject in school; 35
WHEREAS, Nyckoles Harbor won the 2022 Gatorade State Football Player of the Year 36
award for Washington, D.C.; 37 WHEREAS, Nyckoles Harbor finished the 2022 season with 45 tackles, 16.5 tackles for a 38
loss, 5.5 sacs, and 2 fumble recoveries for Archbishop Carroll High School, which won the division 39
tournament title; 40
WHEREAS, Nyckoles Harbor is already a two-time Gatorade State Boys Track & Field 41
Player of the Year; 42
WHEREAS, Nyckoles Harbor is the son of Azuka Harbor, a former professional soccer 43
player who competed for the Nigerian National team and several other Major League Soccer 44
teams, and Sandra Harbor, a pharmacist; 45
WHEREAS, Nyckoles Harbor is the brother to Giovanna Harbor, a Pennsylvania State 46
University alum; and 47
WHEREAS, in addition to athletics, Nyckoles Harbor enjoys cooking and playing video 48
games. 49
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 50
resolution may be cited as the “Nyckoles Harbor 2022 Gatorade State Football Player of the Year 51
for Washington, D.C. Recognition Resolution of 2023”. 52
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes and congratulates Nyckoles 53
Harbor on winning the 2022 Gatorade State Football Player of the Year award for Washington, 54
D.C. 55
Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon the first date of publication in 56
the District of Columbia Register. 57
