To recognize the contributions that Tricky Entertainment has made to the District of Columbia in 27
the entertainment industry and for their contributions to city’s culture. 28

WHEREAS, Tricky Entertainment is a District based curator of live music and 30
entertainment, that brings a platform to local and national artists to the District of Columbia; 31

WHEREAS, Tricky Entertainment is run by three Native Washingtonians and DCPS 33
graduates, Erwin Pendergrast, Curt Walker and Ronaun Perez who have served their community 34
beyond Tricky Entertainment but also as entrepreneurs and with DC Fire & EMS; 35

WHEREAS, Tricky Entertainment has served the Washington D.C. community for over 37
20 years; 38

WHEREAS, Tricky Entertainment has evolved from having cookouts, football parties and 40
baseball games to hosting Summer Breeze at Nationals Park, the All Black Extravaganza at the 41
Anthem, “4 The Cool In You” Wine and Music Festival, and the DC Inner City Fight Night; 42

WHEREAS, Tricky Entertainment has given back to the District of Columbia by hosting 44
youth events, turkey drives, food drives, clothing drives, and toy drives; and 45
46 WHEREAS, Tricky Entertainment’s work driven by their motto “Love My City” 47
encouraging people to celebrate and love Washington D.C. by showcasing the talent of city and 48
providing them an opportunity to come together. 49

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 51
resolution may be cited as the “Tricky Entertainment Recognition Resolution of 2023”. 52

Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes and honors Tricky 54
Entertainment for their contributions to the District of Columbia in their work showcasing the 55
talent that the District has to offer and providing those in the community a space to celebrate it 56
together. 57

Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon the first date of publication in 59
the District of Columbia Register. 60
