To recognize and honor Andre Strickland for his 8 years of outstanding service in his role 13
as Constituent Services Director for Councilmember Robert C. White, Jr. at the 14
Council of the District of Columbia and for his unwavering commitment to 15
improving the lives of residents in the District of Columbia. 16

WHEREAS, Andre Strickland served as the Constituent Services Director with 18
dedication and a deep understanding of the needs of District residents, always placing 19
their well-being at the forefront of his work; 20

WHEREAS, Andre Strickland demonstrated an exceptional ability to listen to 22
constituents, ensuring their voices were heard and acknowledged by the Council and 23
District agencies; 24

WHEREAS, Andre Strickland showed an extraordinary talent for problem-26
solving and navigating complex government processes to swiftly and effectively address 27
the issues raised by residents; 28

WHEREAS, Andre Strickland helped residents access vital government services, 30
from housing assistance to Medicaid, meaningfully impacting their quality of life; 31

WHEREAS, the District’s senior residents developed particularly strong bonds 33
with Andre Strickland due to his tireless advocacy helping them navigate bureaucratic 34
challenges and ensuring they received support in their times of need; 35

WHEREAS, the Office of Councilmember Robert C. White, Jr. regularly received 37
notes and calls from residents expressing their deep gratitude for Andre Strickland’s 38
service; 39

WHEREAS Councilmember Robert C. White, Jr. often remarked that Andre 41
Strickland was the most talented constituent services professional in the District of 42
Columbia; and 43

WHEREAS, Andre Strickland’s departure from the office leaves behind a legacy 45
of professionalism, empathy, and effectiveness for the residents he served. 46

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that 48
this resolution be cited as the “Andre Strickland Recognition Resolution of 2024”. 49

Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes Andre Strickland for 51
his outstanding service as Constituent Services Director, with heartfelt thanks for his 52
contributions to the District and best wishes for his future endeavors. 53

Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon the first date of 55
publication in the District of Columbia Register. 56
