To recognize, honor, and congratulate the Brookland Middle School for winning the 2024- 25 15
District of Columbia State Interscholastic Athletic Association (DCIAA) Middle Football 16
Championships. 17

WHEREAS, Brookland Middle School, located in Ward 5 on Michigan Ave, NE, is 19
dedicated to preparing students to become lifelong learners and leaders who demonstrate curiosity 20
and express themselves creatively; 21

WHEREAS, Brookland Middle School’s Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, 23
Osiris Walcott, along with Principal Kerry Richardson Jr., have been successful in leading the 24
team to a DCIAA championship; 25

WHEREAS, Brookland Middle School football team dedicated countless hours of practice 27
throughout the season to achieve this goal; 28

WHEREAS, Brookland Middle School’s 2024 football championship team was led by its 30
dedicated coaching staff, including Head Coach Osiris Walcott, Assistant Coach Andre Jones, and 31
Abdul Kuyateh; 32

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 67
resolution may be cited as the “Brookland Middle School 2024 District of Columbia State 68
Interscholastic Athletic Association, (DCIAA) Championship Recognition Resolution of 2024.” 69

Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes and honors Brookland Middle 71
School Football Team for winning the DCIAA Football Championship. 72
