RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
18resolution may be cited as the “Maternal Mortality Review Committee Nancy Gaba
19Confirmation Resolution of 2023”.
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of:
as a person with experience in obstetrics and gynecology from a District hospital or birthing
27center (The George Washington University Hospital) member of the Maternal Mortality Review
28Committee, pursuant to section 3 of the Maternal Mortality Review Committee Establishment
Act of 2018, effective June 5, 2018 (D.C. Law 22-111; D.C. Official Code § 7-671.02), for a29
30term to end January 2, 2026.
31 Sec. 3. The Council shall transmit a copy of this resolution, upon its adoption, to the
32nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
33 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Residency Program Director, and served as the Associate Dean 
for Graduate Medical Education and DIO at The George

Health Sciences in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology 
since 1997. Dr. Gaba became the Oscar I. and Mildred S. Dodek 
and Joan B. and Oscar I Dodek Jr. Professor and Chair of the 
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at GW in March 
' 2014.

Dr. Gaba’s clinical interests include ambulatory gynecology, menopause management, cervical 
dysplasia and operative hysteroscopy. She also enjoys complicated obstetrics including 
management of the breech presentation and operative vaginal delivery. Her national roles 
include service as an ABOG oral examiner, faculty on the CREOG School for Program 
Directors, Co-director and faculty in APGO’s Capstone Surgical Education Scholars Program, as 
well as service on numerous other national committees. Dr. Gaba is a founding Board member 
and immediate past President of SASGOG. She is dedicated to her role as an educator and 
mentor, and has won numerous teaching awards, including the prestigious Donald F. Richardson 
award and the ACGME Parker Palmer Courage to Teach Award.
