 and pursuant to section 201 of the District of Columbia 
Health Occupations Revision Act of 1985, effective March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-	99; D.C. Official 
Code § 3- 1202.01), I am pleased to nominate the following person:

nominee, together with a proposed resolution to assist the Council during the confirmation

15 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 
16 resolution may be cited as the "Board 	of Dentistry Brittany Harris Confirmation Resolution 	of 
17 2023".

19 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment 	of:

23 	Washington, DC 20019 
24 	(Ward 7)

26 as a dental hygienist licensed in the District member 	of the Board of Dentistry, pursuant to 
27 section 201 of the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revision Act 	of 1985, effective 
28 March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-99; D.C. Official 	Code§ 3-1202.01), replacing Yolanda Josey-
29 Baker, to serve the remainder of an unexpired term ending November 30, 2025. 
30 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy 	of this resolution, 
31 upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office 	of the Mayor. 
32 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Brittany Harris 
 
Brittany Harris is a registered Dental Hygienist practicing in Maryland 
and the District of Columbia. She has been practicing since 2013 and 
recently transitioned into education at the University of Maryland 
School of Dentistry. 
At the dental school, Ms. Harris is the dental hygiene clinic coordinator, 
course director, and graduate advisor. Her professional interests include 
health equity and public policy to increase access to care for underserved 
populations. 
Ms. Harris is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association 
and the American Dental Education Association. 
A Ward 7 resident, Ms. Harris earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental 
Hygiene from the University of Maryland and her Master of Science in Dental Hygiene from Old
