To confirm the appointment 
of Mya Price to the Food Policy Council. 
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that this 
resolution may be cited as the "Food Policy Council Mya Price Confirmation Resolution 
of 
2024". 
Sec. 2. The Council 
of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment 	of: 
Ms. Mya Price

(Ward 3) 
as a public member of the Food Policy Council, established by section 3 	of the Food Policy 
Council and Director Establishment Act 
of 2014, effective March 10, 2015 (D.C. Law 20-191;

Code§ 48-312), filling a vacant seat formerly held by Ronnie Webb, for a term to 
end March 1, 2026. 
Sec. 3. The Council 
of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy 	of this resolution, 
upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office 
of the Mayor.

✓Played an integral part in helping Feeding America award over $14M in grants to 35 network members and 75+
community-partner organizations to address the root causes of hunger in their communities since 2022.
✓For 2022, nearly $10M in grants ranging from $100,000 to $500,000 were awarded to 25 food banks partnering with 60
community-based organizations, 90% of which are led by people of color, representing 22 states and Puerto Rico across
urban, suburban, and rural communities.
✓An additional $4M+ investment was made to help ten network members and 16 community-partner organizations, with
grants ranging from $250,000 to $500,000 last June 2023
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 
FEEDING AMERICA ⬥ Washington, DC 	Dec 2017 – Present 
Director, Food Security Equity Impact Fund (2022 – Present) 
•Create and manage the conditions with the Feeding America national office and network to increase racial equity and food
justice-focused community investments.
•Design and implement a transformative approach to support Feeding America network food banks and community partners in
addressing the root causes of food insecurity.
•Oversee the Food Security Equity Impact fund budget, analysis of valuation, collection of relevant data, and learning insights
from member food banks and community organization partners.
•Work closely with the Development Department to build a robust base of supporters for the Food Security Equity Impact Fund
and develop and maintain meaningful relationships with supporters of the fund.
•Collaborate with the Communications Team to increase awareness of the Food Security Equity Impact Fund as a movement to
address root causes of food insecurity and a way of shifting power to communities.
•Serve as an internal leader in operationalizing new and existing initiatives and inspiring Feeding America staff through
transformational change.
•Promote and represent Feeding America and the Food Security Equity Impact Fund at conferences that benefits potential
supporters, partnership, and grantees.
•Partner with departments across Feeding America, including Government Relations, Network Development, and Innovation, to
drive new and emerging program advocacy to address the root causes of food insecurity.
Legislative Manager & Senior Manager of Commodity and Federal Nutrition Programs (2020 – 2022) 
•Expanded organizational partnerships by implementing effective campaigns, which increased USDA commodity purchases.
•Addressed community programs' weak points and revise solutions with the VP of Agricultural and Nutrition Government
Relations, increasing congressional support for federal nutrition programs.
•Spearheaded weekly internal campaign meetings with Government Relations Teams, Congressional Officials, Agricultural
groups, and other key stakeholders to influence strategic partnership and increase support for expanding program efforts.
•Identified opportunities for recommendations while adhering to program policies and regulations, which grew to participate
food bank network members in TEFAP to 193 and 150 for SFSP, CACFP, and other child nutrition programs. Mya Price 	Page 2 
•Represented the organization at legislative exercises, briefings, hearings, coalition meetings, and similar events to educate
policymakers about Feeding America's initiatives addressing domestic hunger.
•Conducted technical reviews on all federal and state policies affecting Feeding America's network members and USDA food
purchases by evaluating and interpreting them to help the organization avoid breaches and violations.
Program Specialist (2017 –2020) 
•Spearheaded and leveraged program management expertise for the organization’s BackPack, Kids Café, School Pantry, and
Mobile Pantry programs, as well as SFSP and CACFP to ensure seamless delivery.
•Received 2 Feeding America’s Employee Service Awards (June & December 2019) for distinguished leadership and cross-
departmental collaboration.
•Designed program resource materials for all child and family national program models, conducted 15 food bank site visits and
tracked over 190 food bank participants for national programs and 150 for SFSP & CACFP.
•Executed 3 years of grant opportunities for the summer feeding program with 20+ food bank network grantees per grant cohort.
YMCA OF KENTUCKY ⬥ Lexington, KY 	Oct 2016 – Sep 2017

•Provided strategic direction, researched, and planned summer camp strategies for each childcare program, increasing the
number of participants and consistently receiving excellent audience feedback.
•Sourced program staff through stellar HR skills, interviewed each and hired qualified candidates for all in-house programming,

Mya Price 
Ms. M ya Price is based in Washington, D.C., and currently serves as the 
Food Security Equity Impact Fund Director for Feeding America. Mya 
is an accomplished leader with over nine years of experience with 
equitable access initiatives and community programs. 	Mya’s policy 
experience is primarily focused on federal nutrition guidance and food 
banking. 
Mya is originally from Kentucky 	and earned her bachelor’s degree in 
Sociology and Anthropology from Centre College, her m	aster’s degree 
in Community & Leadership Development from the University of 
Kentucky and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Urban Leadership & 
Entrepreneurship at the University of the District of Columbia. Mya is enthusiastic to apply her
