Dr. Jamila Jorden
Dr. Jamila Jorden completed a general practice PGY-1 at the Robert
Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
After her residency year was completed, Dr. Jorden worked in a variety
of different areas of pharmaceutical care and practice, including
working as a clinical-staff pharmacist in a hospital setting and a
managed care pharmacist.
During her career, Dr. Jorden developed a passion for working with
pharmacy students and pharmacists just starting off in their careers.

of Managed Care Pharmacy Pfizer/summer interns.
Additionally, Dr. Jorden was the residency program director, for over 10 years, for the ASHP
accredited PGY-1 managed care program at PerformRx. Dr. Jorden decided to return to her alma
mater as an Assistant Professor and the Assistant Director of Experiential Programs at Howard
University College of Pharmacy. Since then, Dr. Jorden expanded her role at Howard University
to become the Director of Experiential Program for the College of Pharmacy. In her role, she is
responsible for the practical experience component of the pharmacy curriculum. In addition to her
work with the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Jorden is also a member of the Washington DC Pharmacy
Association, the Washington Metropolitan Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (as a past Board
Member), the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (recently served as a member of the
Legislative and Regulatory Action Committee), the American Pharmacists Association, the
American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, and various civic organizations. Recently, Dr.
Jorden was elected as the chair elect for the Experiential Education section of the American
Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).
