HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 14
HONORING THE DELAWARE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS TEAMS THAT COMPETED IN THE 2022 AMERICAN PUBLIC WORKS ASSOCIATION NATIONAL SNOW ROADEO IN LOVELAND, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, the Delaware Department of Transportation is responsible for snow and ice removal along state maintained roadways in each of Delawares three counties; and WHEREAS, the Delaware Department of Transportations Division of Maintenance and Operations staff is recruited, tested and trained to perform their duties, emphasizing safety, efficiency, courtesy, and excellence in customer service; and WHEREAS, the Delaware Department of Transportation conducts an annual Truck Rodeo to competitively test the driving, safety and proficiency skills of its personnel, and sends the winners of those competition to a national competition; and WHEREAS, the American Public Works Association (APWA) held its 42 nd National Snow Rodeo in Loveland, Colorado from September 28 to September 30, 2022, featuring competitors from municipal and state departments of transportation across the country; and WHEREAS, the team of Robert (Cubby) Cubbage (Central District) and Doug Marker (Central District) placed first in the ten-wheel truck competition, and placed eleventh in the six-wheel truck competition; and WHEREAS, this is the third time the Delaware Department of Transportation has placed first in this national competition (2007, 2018, 2022); and WHEREAS, the team of Kenny Hudson (South District) and Andrew Hudson (South District) placed second in the six-wheel truck competition and fourth in the ten-wheel truck competition; NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED by the House of the 152 nd General Assembly of the State of Delaware that the members do hereby join in honoring the members of the Delaware Department of Transportation for their outstanding performance at the 2022 APWA National Snow Rodeo. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that suitable copies of this House Resolution be presented to representatives of the Delaware Department of Transportation upon its enactment by the General Assembly.
