An act relating to construction materials mining 2
activities; amending s. 552.30, F.S.; specifying a 3
ground vibration limit for construction materials 4
mining activities within 1 mile of certain areas; 5
authorizing the Chief Financial Officer to direct the 6
State Fire Marshal to modify the standards, limits, 7
and regulations for the use of explosives in 8
connection with such construction materials mining 9
activities; providing an effective date. 10

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 12

Section 1. Subsection (4) is added to section 552.30, 14
Florida Statutes, to read: 15
552.30 Construction materials mining activities. — 16
(4)(a) Beginning July 1, 2022, and notwithstanding any 17
other law, rule, or ordinance, the ground vibration limit for 18
construction materials mining activities within 1 mile of 19
residentially zoned areas may not exceed .15 inches per second. 20
(b) Notwithstanding this sectio n or any other law, the 21
Chief Financial Officer may direct the State Fire Marshal to 22
modify the standards, limits, and regulations for the use of 23
explosives in connection with construction materials mining 24
activities within 1 mile of residentially zoned ar eas, 25

including, but not limited to, the temporary cessation of 26
blasting. 27
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022. 28
