An act relating to Hernando County; amending ch. 65 -2
1618, Laws of Florida, as amended; designating the 3
board of county commissioners to serve as the Hernando 4
County Port Authority; providing an effective date. 5

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 7

Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 65 -1618, Laws of Florida, 9
as amended by chapter 71 -666, Laws of Florida, is amended to 10
read: 11
Section 2. The Herna ndo County Port Authority shall consist 12
of the five (5) members of appointed by the board of county 13
commissioners of Hernando County , which shall sit and act as the 14
Hernando County Port Authority with all the powers and duties 15
attendant thereto. The terms of the members shall be for a 16
period of four (4) years, provided that the present members 17
shall continue in office for the balance of the term for which 18
they were appointed. All vacancies shall be filled by the board 19
of county commissioners for the unexpir ed term. The members of 20
the authority shall elect one (1) of its members as chairman. 21
Each member shall be entitled to reimbursement for actual 22
expenses incurred in the administration of the office. Three (3) 23
members shall constitute a quorum for any purpo se. 24
Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. 25
