WHEREAS, the Eastern Florida State College Women's Soccer 7
Team, the Titans, won the National Junior College Athletic 8
Association Division I Women's Soccer Championship on November 9
20, 2021, in a match played at Daytona State Coll ege, and 10
WHEREAS, the team defeated Tyler Junior College 1 -0 to win 11
the program's first national title and end Tyler Junior 12
College's 2-year reign as champions, and 13
WHEREAS, Lena Stevens scored the first national 14
championship game goal in Titans history and the only goal of 15
the game on a penalty kick with 23 minutes left in the first 16
half, and 17
WHEREAS, the back line of Lydia Carroll, Marthe Taugbol, 18
Sofie Sorum, and Jessica DeBiasse kept an offense that came into 19
the championship game averaging 3.1 goals per game scoreless for 20
the first time in more than 2 years, and 21
WHEREAS, this championship was the first for the Eastern 22
Florida State College Women's Soccer Program, and 23
WHEREAS, the Eastern Florida State College Women's Soccer 24
Team has competed in nat ional tournaments for the past 11 soccer 25

seasons, this being their third appearance in a national 26
