A memorial to the Congress of the United States, 2
urging Congress to recognize the need to establish a 3
new zip code for the town of Miami Lakes. 4

WHEREAS, the town of Miami Lakes is a municipality located 6
in Northwest Miami-Dade County, Florida, with a population of 7
approximately 31,000 and a land area of approximately 6 square 8
miles, and 9
WHEREAS, establishing a new zip code for the town of Miami 10
Lakes would provide numerous benefits to its residents, 11
including lowering insurance rates; fixing address -related 12
issues with elections, censuses, and United States mail 13
delivery; and branding and economic development, NOW, THEREFORE, 14

Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 16

That the Congress of the United States is urged to 18
recognize the need to establish a new zip code for the town of 19
Miami Lakes. 20
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of State dispatch 21
copies of this memorial to the President of the United States, 22
the President of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the 23
United States House of Representatives, and each member of the 24
Florida delegation to the United States Congress. 25
