Present subsection (2) of section 1013.13, 12 Florida Statutes, is redesignated as subsection (3), and a new 13 subsection (2) is added to that section, to read: 14 1013.13 Coordination of school safety information; 15 construction design documents. — 16 (2) The Department of Education shall procure a vendor to 17 produce standard emergency response mapping data for every 18 public school building in this state. The vendor shall be 19 responsible for providing the data to the applicable county, 20 district school boards, and th e appropriate local, state, and 21 federal public safety agencies for use in response to 22 emergencies. 23 (a) Emergency response mapping data must be provided in an 24 electronic or digital format to assist first responders in 25 HB 301 2023 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions. hb0301-00 Page 2 of 3 F L O R I D A H O U S E O F R E P R E S E N T A T I V E S responding to emergencies at schools. 26 (b) The emergency response mapping data must, at a 27 minimum, meet all of the following requirements: 28 1. Be compatible with software platforms used by local, 29 state, and federal public safety agencies that provide emergency 30 services to the specific schoo l for which the data is provided 31 without requiring such agencies to purchase additional software 32 or requiring the integration of third -party software to view the 33 data; 34 2. Be compatible with security software platforms in use 35 by the specific school for wh ich the data is provided without 36 requiring the local law enforcement agencies or school districts 37 to purchase additional software or requiring the integration of 38 third-party software to view the data; 39 3. Be provided in a printable format; 40 4. Be verified for accuracy by a walk -through of school 41 buildings and grounds; 42 5. Be oriented true north; 43 6. Be overlaid on current aerial imagery or plans of 44 school buildings; 45 7. Contain site-specific labeling that matches the school 51 grounds, including parking areas, athletic fields, surrounding 52 roads, and neighboring properties; and 53 9. Be overlaid with gridded x/y coordinates. 54 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023. 55
