Section 489.5187, Florida Statutes, is created 15 to read: 16 489.5187 Heating, ventilation, and a ir-conditioning system 17 manufacturer warranty registrations and transfers; required 18 contractor documentation. —A manufacturer warranty for a heating, 19 ventilation, and air -conditioning (HVAC) system must be 20 registered to the home or building and not to the ow ner of the 21 home or building. When a new owner takes over the home or 22 building, the current timeframe for the exiting manufacturer 23 warranty for the HVAC system stays in place. A contractor who installs a new 26 HVAC system must document the installation through an invoice or 27 a receipt to the customer. 28 Section 2. Section 559.956, Florida Statutes, is created 29 to read: 30 559.956 Heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system 31 manufacturer warranty registrations and transfer; required 32 contractor documentation. —A manufacturer warranty for a heating, 33 ventilation, and air -conditioning (HVAC) system must be 34 registered to the home or building and not to the ow ner of the 35 home or building.
