A resolution recognizing April 13, 2023, as "NASCAR 2 
Day" in Florida. 3 
 4 
 WHEREAS, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing 5 
(NASCAR) is the sanctioning body for the premier form of 6 
motorsports in the United States and has a worldwide impact on 7 
professional stock car racing, and 8 
 WHEREAS, established to organize and promote stock car 9 
racing in the United States, NASCAR was incorporated in Daytona 10 
Beach on February 21, 1948, and 11 
 WHEREAS, NASCAR has remained headquartered in Daytona Beach 12 
since its beginning, bringing significant cultural and economic 13 
impact to this state, and 14 
 WHEREAS, expanding throughout its history to become a 15 
global sport, NASCAR organi zes, promotes, and officiates more 16 
than 1,200 official stock car races in 12 countries across 11 17 
officially sanctioned racing series, including four 18 
international series in Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Europe, and 19 
 WHEREAS, NASCAR events and attractions, in cluding Daytona 20 
International Speedway, Homestead -Miami Speedway, Sebring 21 
International Raceway, NASCAR Corporate Headquarters, and ONE 22 
DAYTONA, bring thousands of visitors to Florida every year, and 23  

 WHEREAS, NASCAR'S 75th anniversary season will be a yea r-24 
long celebration of the sport's past, present, and future, NOW, 25 
THEREFORE, 26

Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of 28 
Florida: 29 
 30 
 That April 13, 2023, is recognized as "NASCAR Day" in 31 
Florida. 32 
 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy o f this resolution be 33 
presented to the NASCAR Board of Directors as a tangible token 34 
of the sentiments expressed herein. 35
