Appreciation Month"; removing provisions relating to 4
Veterans Week; authorizing the Governor to issue a 5
proclamation with specified information; providing an 6

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

Section 1. Section 683.1475, Florida Statutes, is amended 11
to read: 12
683.1475 Veterans Appreciation Month Week.— 13
(1) The month of week beginning with the Sunday preceding 14
November 11 of each year is designated as "Veterans Appreciation 15
Month Week." If November 11 falls on a Sunday, "Veterans Week" 16
begins on that day. 17
(2) The Governor may annually issue a proclamation 18
annually designating the month week of November 11 as Veterans 19
Appreciation Month Week and encouraging counties, 20
municipalities, public schools, and residents of this state to 21
observe the occasion by creat ing special programs and events to 22
show appreciation for the veterans who have served calling upon 23
public officials, schools, private organizations, and all 24
residents of the state to commemorate Veterans Week and honor 25

the men and women who answered the ca ll during times of war and 26
peace to protect and preserve the treasured freedom of all 27
citizens of the United States. 28
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 29
