Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 7

Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section 9
255.0992, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: 10
255.0992 Public works projects; prohi bited governmental 11
actions.— 12
(1) As used in this section, the term: 13
(b) "Public works project" means an activity that is paid 14
for with any local or state-appropriated funds and that consists 15
of the construction, maintenance, repair, renovation, 16
remodeling, or improvement of a building, road, street, sewer, 17
storm drain, water system, site development, irrigation system, 18
reclamation project, gas or electrical distribution system, gas 19
or electrical substation, or other facility, project, or portion 20
thereof owned in whole or in part by any political subdivision. 21
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 22
