Section 1006.05, Florida Statutes, is created 13 to read: 14 1006.05 Mental health coordinated system of care. — 15 (1) Pursuant to s. 394.491 and to further promote the 16 effective implementation of a coordinated system of care 17 pursuant to ss. 394.4573 and 394.495, each school district that 18 provides mental health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, 19 treatment, and recovery services to students diagnosed with one 20 or more mental health or any co -occurring substance use disorder 21 and students at high risk of such diagnoses shall be guided by 22 and adhere to the guiding principles of the mental health 23 treatment and support system as provided under s. 394.491. 24 (2)(a) Pursuant to s. 394.494, each school distr ict shall 25 CS/HB 1169 2024 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions. hb1169-01-c1 Page 2 of 2 F L O R I D A H O U S E O F R E P R E S E N T A T I V E S meet the general performance outcomes for the child and 26 adolescent mental health treatment and support system. 27 (b) Each school district shall report annually to the 28 department on the general performance outcomes for the child and 29 adolescent mental health treatment and support system and how 30 the support system funding is allocated and spent. 31 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 32
