Subsection (15) of section 455.213, Florida 12 Statutes, is renumbered as subsection (16), and a new subsection 13 (15) is added to that section to read: 14 455.213 General licensing provisions. — 15 (15)(a) Before the board, or the department if t here is no 16 board, enters a final order to deny an application for licensure 17 by reciprocity or by endorsement based on a finding that the 18 requirements of the basis license in another jurisdiction are 19 not substantially equivalent or otherwise insufficient fo r a 20 license in this state, the board, or the department if there is 21 no board, must submit the finding to the secretary for review. 22 The secretary may agree with the finding and deny the 23 application for licensure or disagree with the finding and issue 24 the license. The final order must be entered according to the 25 HB 1273 2024 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions. hb1273-00 Page 2 of 2 F L O R I D A H O U S E O F R E P R E S E N T A T I V E S secretary's decision. 26 (b) If the secretary makes a finding that the requirements 27 of a basis license in another jurisdiction are substantially 28 equivalent to or otherwise sufficient for a license in t his 29 state, the board, or the department if there is no board, must 30 make the same finding for similar applicants from the same 31 jurisdiction, unless the requirements of the basis license are 32 changed. 33 (c) As used in this subsection, the term "basis license" 34 means the license or the licensure requirements of another 35 jurisdiction which are used to meet the requirements for a 36 license in this state. 37 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 38
