Section 17.71, Florida Statutes, is created to 14 read: 15 17.71 Indian Gaming Revenue Clearing Trust Fund. — 16 (1) The Indian Gaming Reve nue Clearing Trust Fund is 17 created within the Department of Financial Services. The purpose 18 of the trust fund is to act as a depository for a portion of the 19 revenue-sharing payments received by the state under the gaming 20 compact, as the term "compact" is d efined in s. 285.710(1). 21 (2) Funds shall be credited to the Indian Gaming Revenue 22 Clearing Trust Fund as provided in s. 380.095. Funds received 23 from such revenue-sharing payments and deposited into the trust 24 fund are exempt from the service charges impos ed pursuant to s. 25 HB 7083 2024 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions. hb7083-00 Page 2 of 2 F L O R I D A H O U S E O F R E P R E S E N T A T I V E S 215.20. 26 (3) The department shall disburse funds, by nonoperating 27 transfer, from the Indian Gaming Revenue Clearing Trust Fund as 28 provided in s. 380.095. 29 (4) Pursuant to s. 19(f)(3), Art. III of the State 30 Constitution, the Indian Gamin g Revenue Clearing Trust Fund is 31 exempt from the termination provisions of s. 19(f)(2), Art. III 32 of the State Constitution. 33 Section 2. This act shall take effect on the same date 34 that CS/HB 1417 or similar legislation takes effect , if such 35 legislation is adopted in the same legislative session or an 36 extension thereof and becomes a law. 37
