medal recipients; amending s. 338.155, F.S.; revising 3
eligibility for toll exemptions to include operators 4
displaying a Purple Heart specialty license plate or a 5
Purple Heart special motorcycle license plate; 6
providing an effective date. 7

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section 11
338.155, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: 12
338.155 Payment of toll on toll facilities required; 13
exemptions.— 14
(1)(a) A person may not use a toll facility without 15
payment of tolls, except: 16
1. An employee of the agency operating the toll project 17
when using the toll facility on official state business. 18
2. State military personnel while on official military 19
business. 20
3. A person with a disability as provided in subsection 21
(3). 22
4. A person exempt from toll payment by the authorizing 23
resolution for bonds issued to finance the facility. 24
5. A person exempt on a temporary basis where use of such 25

toll facility is required as a detour route. 26
6. A law enforcement officer operating an official vehicle 27
while on official law enforcement business. 28
7. A person operating a fire vehicle while on official 29
business or a rescue vehicle while on official business. 30
8. A person participating in the funeral procession of a 31
law enforcement officer or firefighter killed in the line of 32
duty. 33
9. A person operating a motor vehicle displaying a Purple 34
Heart specialty license plate or a motorcycle displaying a 35
Purple Heart special motorcycle license plate. 36
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025. 37
