universities to waive specified fees for graduate 4

appointment requirement; providing an effective date. 6

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8

Section 1. Present subsections (16) through (21) of 10
section 1009.26, Florida Stat utes, are redesignated as 11
subsections (17) through (22), respectively, and a new 12
subsection (16) is added to that section, to read: 13
1009.26 Fee waivers. — 14
(16) A state university shall waive the fees imposed in s. 15
1009.24(7)-(13) for a graduate student who has at least a 0.25 16
full-time equivalent appointment or greater as a graduate 17
assistant, graduate research assistant, graduate teaching 18
assistant, graduate research associate, or graduate teaching 19
associate. 20
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025. 21
