Paragraph (a) of subsection (12) of section 13 790.06, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: 14 790.06 License to carry concealed weapon or concealed 15 firearm.— 16 (12)(a) A license issued unde r this section does not 17 authorize any person to openly carry a handgun or carry a 18 concealed weapon or concealed firearm into: 19 1. Any place of nuisance as defined in s. 823.05; 20 2. Any police, sheriff, or highway patrol station; 21 3. Any detention facili ty, prison, or jail; 22 4. Any courthouse; 23 5. Any polling place; 28 7. Any meeting of the governing body of a county, public 29 school district, municipality, or special district; 30 8. Any meeting of the Legislature or a committee thereof; 31 9. Any school, college, or professional athletic e vent not 32 related to firearms, except that this section does not preclude 33 a person who holds an active certification from the Criminal 34 Justice Standards and Training Commission as a law enforcement 35 officer as defined in s. 943.10(1) from carrying a conceale d 36 weapon or a concealed firearm when attending such an event as a 37 private citizen; 38 10. Any elementary or secondary school facility or 39 administration building; 40 11. Any career center; 41 12. Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense 42 alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which 43 portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such 44 purpose; 45 13. The inside of the passenger terminal and sterile area 51 of any airport, provided that no p erson shall be prohibited from 52 carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, which firearm is 53 encased for shipment for purposes of checking such firearm as 54 baggage to be lawfully transported on any aircraft; or 55 15. Any place where the carrying of firearm s is prohibited 56 by federal law. 57 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025. 58
