Florida Senate - 2025 SB 760 By Senator Berman 26-00839-25 2025760__ 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to state university student fee 3 waivers; amending s. 1009.26, F.S.; requiring state 4 universities to waive specified fees for graduate 5 students who meet a specified full-time equivalent 6 appointment requirement; providing an effective date. 7 8 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9 10 Section 1.Present subsections (16) through (21) of section 11 1009.26, Florida Statutes, are redesignated as subsections (17) 12 through (22), respectively, and a new subsection (16) is added 13 to that section, to read: 14 1009.26Fee waivers. 15 (16)A state university shall waive the fees imposed in s. 16 1009.24(7)-(13) for a graduate student who has at least a 0.25 17 full-time equivalent appointment or greater as a graduate 18 assistant, graduate research assistant, graduate teaching 19 assistant, graduate research associate, or graduate teaching 20 associate. 21 Section 2.This act shall take effect July 1, 2025.
