A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Peter Louis Banks on his outstanding public service; and for

other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Peter Louis Banks has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the3
vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare4
of the citizens of Georgia; and5
WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,6
talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as evidenced7
dramatically by his superlative service as mayor of Barnesville, Georgia; and8
WHEREAS, prior to his tenure as mayor, he served for four years as part of the Georgia9
State Senate and worked as an attorney for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce; and10
WHEREAS, Peter's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience11
and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state12
have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and13

WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high
14
ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom15
which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved16
through overcoming the many challenges of life; and17
WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for18
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and19
WHEREAS, Peter has served with honor and distinction, and his vision and unyielding20
commitment to excellence have set the standard for public service; and21
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this22
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24
the members of this body recognize and commend Peter Louis Banks for his efficient,25
effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia as well as extend the26
most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Peter29
Louis Banks.30
