A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Walton High School Varsity Coed Competition Cheerleading Squad for

winning the 2023 GHSA Competition Cheerleading State Championship; and for other2
purposes.3
WHEREAS, the Walton High School Varsity Coed Competition Cheerleading Squad has4
established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character5
and academics; and6
WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school by placing first in the 20237
GHSA Competition Cheerleading State Championship Coed Division, the first cheerleading8
state title in the school's history; and9
WHEREAS, this exemplary victory further represents the first time in 26 years that the title10
has been awarded to a cheerleading team in the Cobb County School District; and11
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding12
athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the13
team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of coaches Kaitlin14
Mason, Cryssie Dunn, and Roger Schonder; and15

WHEREAS, this all-star team included Mary Grace Bingham, Rowan Faulkner, Reese

Faulkner, Hannah Gray, Madeline Irvine, Shelby Miller, Mary Ella Case, Hannah Diaz,17
Ariana Gibson, Renee Michaels, Handley Posener, Lily Schweers, Savannah Bradigan, Grant18
Jackson, Maddie McCarey, Annaleigh Wright, Ally Caron, Kenzie Jernigan, and Keilan19
Miller; and20
WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by21
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is22
abundantly proper to call them champions.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24
the members of this body congratulate the Walton High School Varsity Coed Competition25
Cheerleading Squad for winning the 2023 GHSA Competition Cheerleading State26
Championship and extend best wishes for their continued success.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the29
Walton High School Varsity Coed Competition Cheerleading Squad.30
