23 LC 112 1748 Senate Resolution 12EX By: Senators Butler of the 55th, Jones II of the 22nd, Parent of the 42nd, Halpern of the 39th, Esteves of the 6th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Liz Flowers; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, Liz Flowers has acted as Executive Director of the Georgia Senate Democratic2 Caucus since 2011 and served three Democratic Leaders: Robert Brown, Steve Henson, and3 Gloria Butler; and4 5 WHEREAS, Liz Flowers' dedication to public service has made her a Georgia political6 institution who has made a mark on both chambers of the Georgia General Assembly, having7 also served in the Georgia House Democratic Caucus; and8 9 WHEREAS, Liz Flowers has spent her life fighting for important civil rights and women's10 rights issues; and11 12 WHEREAS, she has been a beloved mentor to countless young people getting their start in13 Georgia politics, media, and advocacy; and14 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high15 ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom16 S. R. 12EX - 1 - 23 LC 112 1748 which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved 17 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and18 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for19 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body23 recognize and commend Liz Flowers for her storied career of public service in the State of24 Georgia and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Liz Flowers.27 S.
